CentralOhioCIO Goes Virtual

At this year's ORBIE Awards you’ll gain leadership insight from a keynote speaker, celebrate with others as the ORBIE winners are announced live, and have the opportunity to sit down at a virtual table to connect with others. That’s right! Our ORBIE awards virtual platform allows you to join a table and chat with others via video, just as though you were sitting in the same room with them.

The ORBIE Awards will take place on a virtual event platform called Remo, and you can go ahead and set up your profile now. This will show the other attendees who you are, what company you’re with, and how they can get in touch with you. Pro tip: add a profile picture so it makes it easier for people to find you!

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this just a webinar?

No! The Ohio ORBIE Awards is an interactive virtual experience where you'll gather together at a virtual table of eight using your computer's webcam and you'll have the opportunity to connect with anyone else at the event via live chat.

What kind of software do I need to join the event?

This year's ORBIE Awards will take place on a platform called Remo. Remo runs directly in your web browser, so no special software is required.

Remo works in most modern browsers, but the experience is best viewed in Google Chrome or Safari. We recommend using Remo's Gear Test to confirm that your browser, webcam, and audio will work properly.

Can I join the event from my mobile device?

While you can connect with a mobile device, your experience will be limited. As a result, we recommend participating in the ORBIE Awards from a desktop or laptop computer.

Can I setup my profile before the event?

Yes! In order to maximize your time on the day of the event, we encourage you to visit live.remo.co to setup your account and profile ahead of time.

Can I talk to people who aren't at my table?

Absolutely! Looking for someone other than your assigned table mates? Head over to the chat window, find the name of the attendee, and then say hello! Find an open table and make a plan to meet there (“looks like table 7 is open, meet me there”) to enjoy a face-to-face conversation. For each event there will be several floors for “open conversations”. No assigned seats, just mix and mingle as if you’re at an in-person event! When it’s time for the program to start, make your way back to your assigned table to enjoy the show with your team.

What if I have technical issues during the event?

Experiencing echoes? Can’t hear the other people talking? Not seeing the table or person you’re looking for? The best way to avoid most issues is to check your settings ahead of time using Remo's Gear Test so you can maximize the time spent at the event. But don’t worry, even if you didn’t have a chance to test everything, there will be at least one table on each floor with an InspireCIO team member who can help point you in the right direction. Just look for the table labeled “Help Desk” or chat with us at ORBIE Event Help.

What if I have trouble joining the event?

Be sure to join the event using your email address, which was submitted by the person who registered your table. If you are using the correct email address but still having trouble access the event, please contact us using the chat feature on this page.
